Requirements

Candidates should possess experience as a Mate operating a passenger vessel, including navigation and bridge watch responsibilities, and experience operating inflatable boats and kayaks. They should also be familiar with ship maintenance, cleaning procedures, and safety protocols, including knowledge of emergency response activities and the use of personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

The Cadet Shipping Intern will perform ship maintenance tasks such as sweeping decks, washing windows, cleaning restrooms, priming and painting the vessel, and performing knot tying. They will assist with bridge watch/navigation, conduct hourly security patrols including nightly engine room inspections, handle lines during docking, and assist with general boat operations, including loading/offloading luggage and assisting with guest transportation in inflatable boats.
