Business Planner - OnStar International Markets & Global Commerce

Position Overview

The Business Planner will be responsible for the coordination of business activities for OnStar International Markets & Global Commerce. This individual will work effectively with key stakeholders within GM, facilitating strategic and operational involvement across global teams. The successful candidate will create presentations and documents representing the Director of OnStar International Markets & Global Commerce, and partner on strategic business and operational initiatives to drive profitable growth for OnStar and its eCommerce business.

The ideal candidate is team- and results-oriented, possesses strong business and commercial acumen, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role requires the ability to achieve results within General Motors' matrixed, multi-discipline structure and understand critical collaboration points with global functions. Travel with the Director of OnStar International Markets & Global Commerce may be required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage business activities as directed by the Director of OnStar International Markets & Global Commerce, requiring coordination with regional leaders.
  • Coordinate with other Business Planners across OnStar and General Motors to ensure efficient information flow.
  • Plan and coordinate content for All People Meetings / Town Halls and external engagements.
  • Support the planning, development, and execution of key organizational strategies and initiatives.
  • Prioritize work effectively and proactively improve processes aligned with business objectives.
  • Undertake special projects requiring confidentiality and discretion.

Work Arrangement

This role is based remotely. However, if you live within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta (GA), Austin (TX), Detroit (MI), Warren (MI), or Mountain View (CA), you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Finance, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of total experience in business planning, program management, consulting, or similar related roles.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in strategy, project management, or other relevant leadership experience.
  • Strategic thinker with effective interpersonal skills for collaborative work across all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
  • Highly proficient/masterful in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on presentation design and development.
  • Advanced analytical skills to interpret data and provide insights for complex problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing relationships and influencing stakeholders.
  • Expertise in managing complex projects with autonomy, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • High integrity and acute political sensitivity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong team- and results-oriented individual with a demonstrated track record of being “Low Ego, High Impact”.
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of GM’s matrixed structure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Subscription Sales and Digital Commerce across multiple geographies and cultures.
