Candidates should possess 5–10 years of experience in pricing, product strategy, growth, or GTM roles within high-growth technology companies. They must have deep experience in pricing and packaging, particularly consumption pricing, and demonstrate strong analytical skills, including experience building models and frameworks for strategic decision-making. Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, and other Business Intelligence tools (such as Mode, Tableau, or Looker) is required. A background in API businesses is a plus.
As an API Pricing specialist, you will drive the strategy and analysis for determining how OpenAI prices its core offerings on the API platform, aligning with executive leadership on key pricing principles. You will recommend pricing for all new offerings, working cross-functionally with Finance, Product, and Engineering to accurately model the cost to serve. Additionally, you will collaborate with Product and GTM to design new pricing and packaging offerings, monitor competitive pricing trends, and ensure the evolution of the API platform.
