Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred, but not required; relevant industry experience will be considered)
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, or a related role, preferably within the industrial automation industry (e.g., electrical or pneumatic automation and controls)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with a basic understanding of industrial and factory automation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze market trends, set up sales calls, identify and respond to customer needs, and stay informed on competitor activities to uncover new business opportunities
  • Prospect potential clients through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events
  • Cultivate and maintain strong internal and external relationships with clients, stakeholders, and technology partners to drive business growth
  • Conduct 12-16 in-person sales calls per week, including joint sales activity with technology partner sales representatives where appropriate
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Heitek’s industrial automation products and services to effectively communicate their value; continuously learn and adapt to new products and technologies
  • Create and deliver compelling business presentations that showcase Heitek’s products and services, leading to new client engagements
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with clients to secure mutually beneficial agreements and close deals to meet sales targets
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), preparing regular reports to assess progress and inform business decisions
  • Meet with the Area Sales Manager monthly for funnel reviews to assess sales pipeline and project needs
  • Participate in monthly company/departmental meetings to discuss sales performance and data
  • Present successful deals to the team (win sharing), sharing insights on potential business opportunities
  • Attend product and sales training sessions, with occasional travel required
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaigns and promotional activities to increase brand visibility and attract new clients
  • Engage in process improvement meetings with supporting teams to streamline and enhance sales operations
