Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5+) years of proven professional experience in a sales position. Experience in the foodservice sector is an asset
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience. The Canadian Association of Sales Professionals (ACPV) designation is desirable
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, particularly regarding report analysis and data exploitation
  • Ability to express information in relevant terms

Responsibilities

  • Implement the new agreed business plan in accordance with the financial objectives of the locality or region
  • Collaborate with regional sales managers to develop a comprehensive business development strategy
  • Leverage advanced data analytics to prioritize opportunities and develop a business development strategy
  • Prioritize recommended information acquisition opportunities from other sales team members (processed through Sysco's Salesforce platform with management approval)
  • Develop a creative and effective sales plan to capitalize on multi-segment opportunities identified by advanced data analytics
  • Leverage the expertise and skills of a cross-functional sales team to quickly address unique potential client concerns, build trust, and shorten sales cycles
  • Coordinate the proposal process to close local contracts that meet the client's needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Collaborate with the sales team to increase business development efforts, including helping other sales team members retain key accounts to achieve annual profit plan objectives
  • Review weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales objectives and results for target accounts and prepare action plans when improvements are needed
  • Gather information on emerging market and foodservice sector trends to understand the competitive landscape and best position Sysco for increased efficiency in securing new contracts
  • Develop strong professional relationships with brokers, distributors, and foodservice industry peers
  • Log potential client account data and activity on Sysco's Salesforce platform
  • Identify opportunities for promotions, additional services, and distribution channels to increase sales
  • Make presentations to senior executives and consult with them on foodservice sector trends
  • Attend sales meetings, food trade shows, client events, etc., and provide feedback
  • Perform any other assigned tasks
