Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree or direct equivalent experience with property/casualty claims handling, along with the ability to organize data, multi-task, and make decisions independently. Above average communication skills, both written and verbal, are required, as well as the ability to write reports and compose correspondence. Candidates must also be able to resolve complex issues, maintain confidentiality and data security, effectively deal with a diverse group of individuals, and accurately handle mathematical problems, including geometry and financial calculations. A valid driver’s license and a driving record consistent with the Company’s underwriting guidelines are also necessary.
The Branch Claims Representative will investigate, evaluate, and settle entry-level insurance claims, study insurance policies and forms to develop foundational knowledge, learn and comply with Company claim handling procedures, develop claim negotiation and settlement skills, serve the needs of agents, insureds, and others, meet and communicate with claimants, legal counsel, and third-parties, and develop specialized skills including estimating and utilizing computer-based programs for loss adjustment. They will also continually develop product knowledge through approved educational programs and maintain an adjuster’s license if required.
