Billing Support Specialist

Position Overview

Grow Therapy is seeking a passionate Billing Support Specialist to join our mission of making high-quality mental healthcare accessible and affordable. In this role, you will be a crucial advocate for both our Clients and Therapists, troubleshooting technical issues, educating customers on our platform, and identifying opportunities for growth. You will play a vital role in demystifying complex systems and empowering our users.

We empower providers, augment insurance payors, and serve patients. Since launching in February 2021, we have supported over ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients nationwide. Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues raised by Clients and Therapists via Phone and Live Chat.
• Investigate problems to identify root causes and collaborate with Product teams to enhance the platform.
• Assist and educate customers on the Grow Therapy platform, delivering exceptional customer service.
• Act as the primary point of contact and advocate for customers, ensuring they feel heard and supported.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience with insurance across multiple commercial and government payers.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10/CPT codes, preferably within mental health.
• Experience using Claim MD or Availity for benefit verification and reading EOBs.
• Ability to clearly explain patient benefits.
• Experience working with various payer portals.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and comfortable with ambiguity and asynchronous communication.
• Passion for problem-solving and an interest in health tech.
• A work ethic defined by kindness and empathy, prioritizing customer experience.
• Proven ability to work independently and remotely, adapting to changing priorities and customer needs.
• Comfortable meeting quantitative metrics, such as the number of conversations handled daily.
• Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced startup environment and contributing to growth.
• Bilingual (Spanish preferred) is a plus.

Compensation

• Salary: $45,000 - $48,000 USD base compensation.
• Note: The base compensation will vary based on relevant experience, qualifications, and the candidate's working location.
