Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, technical sales, or project delivery within the water/wastewater treatment sector
  • Strong understanding of treatment technologies (e.g., biological, chemical, filtration, disinfection) and their application in municipal and industrial settings
  • Proven track record of building relationships and delivering commercial success
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Familiarity with Irish water sector procurement processes and regulations is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on water and wastewater treatment solutions
  • Identify and cultivate new opportunities across public utilities, engineering consultants, contractors, and industrial clients
  • Lead client engagement from early-stage opportunity development through to contract negotiation and handover
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Tendering) to develop tailored solutions that meet customer needs
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activity to inform strategy and positioning
  • Represent Xylem at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to promote our treatment capabilities
  • Support the development of long-term partnerships and framework agreements with key accounts
