Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain storage infrastructure, including storage area networks (SAN)
  • Monitor storage performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies for optimal throughput and reliability
  • Work with storage technologies such as Fibre Channel, RAID configurations, and other storage visualizations
  • Manage storage using tools and frameworks such as EMC Unisphere and IBM Storage Manager
  • Provision storage resources and allocate space to meet application and data needs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve storage issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors
  • Implement and maintain storage security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data protection
  • Conduct storage capacity planning and forecasting for future growth and business requirements
  • Create and maintain documentation for storage configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Ensure appropriate storage media are controlled, accounted for in inventory, and released to off-site processes and on-site storage areas
  • Ensure all restorable media, necessary copies of software, documentation, and supplies at off-site locations are kept current and reviewed periodically
  • Maintain procedures for delivery of backup materials to recovery facilities/sites
