Requirements

  • Qualified Actuary or protection professional
  • Technically strong with in-depth understanding of protection reinsurance and/or insurance within the Indian Protection market
  • Previous experience in the Indian market and functional exposure to reinsurance pricing and/or product development (at insurer, reinsurer, broker or consultancy)
  • Highly driven, motivated by growing business and seeking new opportunities, resilient to hurdles
  • Highly-skilled at interpersonal relationships and stakeholder management, able to adapt style to different stakeholders, seniorities and personalities
  • Excellent and engaging communication style, able to communicate technical content accurately and clearly, with strong meeting presence and presentation skills to diverse audiences
  • Creative problem-solver who challenges the status quo
  • Excellent verbal reasoning skills to respond credibly on unfamiliar topics
  • Excellent organisation skills to manage diverse and changing workload, with history of meeting challenging deadlines by influencing others
  • Ability to come into the office at least a couple of days a week and travel frequently to visit clients in India

Responsibilities

  • Significant contribution towards achieving new business plan for Asia, with focus on India
  • Manage perception of Pacific Life Re by Protection clients in the Indian market
  • Own key client relationships: form deep relationships, develop in-depth knowledge of clients’ needs, find creative ways to tackle challenges, set client strategies, and execute collaboratively
  • Prepare reinsurance treaties and lead their negotiation and implementation
  • Co-ordinate client work across all Pacific Life Re departments and manage client communications
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on client contact, opportunities, actions, and treaty work in CRM system
  • Drive ad-hoc initiatives to improve ways of working and client service
  • Own management of existing client relationships: conduct client meetings, presentations, identify gaps and new opportunities
  • Work with relevant teams across Pacific Life Re to maintain high service standards for client initiatives, queries, and requests
  • Develop deep understanding of Pacific Life Re business, strategy, and risk appetite
