Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in technical systems or a related field, and demonstrate strong knowledge of general automation systems, instruments, or product field service experience, along with at least 2-5 years of formal experience. Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics is required.
The Automation Technical Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert and provide automation hardware solution implementation services in large core clinical laboratories, leading localized teams to receive, transport, assemble, and test automation solutions. They will utilize consulting strategies to enhance customer partnerships, provide supplemental automation product training to field service teams, act as a liaison between customers and internal teams, implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system, and provide subject matter expert support post-implementation. Additionally, they will be responsible for supporting new automation hardware product launches and instrument additions, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and adhering to the Abbott Code of Business Conduct.
