Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering design
  • 2+ years of prior experience in project management on a complex shipping product, preferably in robotics or automotive
  • Deep experience interacting with all elements of the Product Design and New Product Introduction process including design engineering stages, verification and validation, compliance, quality engineering, manufacturing logistics, and marketing
  • Excellent project management and communication skills, comfortable with scheduling, milestones, tracking, driving meetings to obtain consensus, making 1-1 connections with staff, understanding the big picture, and communicating to stakeholders
  • Proficiency in waterfall project management tools and software (e.g., Smartsheets, Microsoft Project)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development lifecycle of robotics structure, cabling, and paneling from early stage design coordination to mass production
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical and electrical engineers as well as stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of new designs
  • Work with Program Manager, Hardware Design Managers, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and engineering leads to build comprehensive project plans aligning resources and budgets with project scope, and ensure risks are identified and mitigated
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of robust, manufacturable, and performance-optimized humanoid structural components, including primary structure, external paneling, and internal cabling systems
  • Work with functional leads to establish a schedule within the master program schedule and track performance
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
  • Use resource planning to identify bottlenecks, unblock them, and adjust schedules accordingly
  • Continually track projects and update stakeholders on top priorities and the critical path
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks to project delivery, and implement effective contingency plans when necessary
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure on-time delivery of all critical components
  • Coordinate design reviews to ensure all required deliverables meet high engineering standards, enabling a seamless transition from development to manufacturing
  • Ensure rigorous documentation, change control, and versioning of structural components and associated cable harnesses
