  • Investment acumen: Ability to gain knowledge of the full range of public and private asset class solutions, including key high-priority Northern Trust Asset Management capabilities, along with awareness of industry trends influencing institutional investor behavior, particularly for insurance general accounts and healthcare system investments
  • Communication Skills: Ability to listen purposefully and apply problem-solving skills to identify and quickly address client servicing issues. Must be capable of communicating confidently and effectively with sophisticated institutional clients
  • Understanding of the unique investing and client servicing needs of insurance companies and healthcare systems
  • Critical thinking skills to navigate internal resources, ensure timely delivery and issue-resolution

Responsibilities

  • Support client service and business development functions as part of Northern Trust Asset Management’s Institutional Client Group, focusing on the specialized investing needs of insurance companies and healthcare systems
  • Help ensure client satisfaction by organizing and facilitating the efforts of Northern Trust Asset Management’s service team, engaging with portfolio management, product management, and other key functions as needed
  • Help Relationship Managers develop a comprehensive understanding of each client’s business, governance structure, and investing objectives to ensure alignment between client needs and Northern Trust Asset Management deliverables
  • Cultivate strong working relationships and tight communication linkages with client contacts and their service providers, serving as a resource-of-first-resort to offer timely resolutions to queries, reporting needs, transaction requests, and other client needs. Anticipate client needs and proactively recommend appropriate solutions
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the unique and evolving investing considerations associated with insurance company and healthcare system assets, and demonstrate that knowledge confidently when interacting with clients, their service providers, and internal teammates
  • Participate in client and prospect meetings as needed, assisting with the assembly of presentation materials and securing/preparing subject-matter experts to assist with discussions
  • Lead the project management teams involved with onboarding new institutional clients and their investment mandates
