Candidates must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree with active board certification in a relevant field, completed an accredited U.S. residency program, and at least three years of independent clinical practice experience, ideally within a startup or health tech environment. Prior experience in a telemedicine-only setting, including synchronous and asynchronous care, is required, along with strong command of digital health platforms and a track record of utilizing technology for patient care. Furthermore, candidates must hold at least three active medical licenses and demonstrate experience in practice management, provider supervision, or quality and safety programs.
The Associate Medical Director will deliver high-quality synchronous and asynchronous obesity care within a virtual-first model, conduct clinical audits and chart reviews, contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives, act as a clinical escalation point for complex cases, and partner with operations and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence. They will lead Learning and Development initiatives for providers, provide mentorship and coaching, participate in the interviewing and onboarding of new clinicians, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a culture of accountability and team cohesion. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with clinical strategy and medical affairs to implement clinical guidelines, identifying opportunities to improve clinical workflows, and contributing to technology development by offering clinical feedback on product enhancements.
