Candidates must be board-certified Nurse Practitioners with a Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited FNP program and prior graduation from an accredited nursing school. They require an active NP license with maintained RN licensure, an active RN compact license, and at least five active state licenses. A minimum of 3 years of post-training experience in high-volume Urgent Care or Primary Care settings is necessary, along with experience caring for newborns through adult populations and the ability to function within an integrated medical practice. Proficiency with technology and electronic medical records is essential, and candidates must maintain active Medicare status and be in good standing with Medicare/Medicaid. Prior telemedicine or video-based virtual care experience and experience with Athena EMR are preferred.
The Nurse Practitioner will deliver comprehensive virtual care to patients of all ages across a wide range of conditions, conducting age-appropriate history and virtual exams, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating conditions, and ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests. They will develop and document treatment plans, manage acute, chronic, and mental health conditions for pediatric and adult patients, and request consultations or referrals when appropriate. Responsibilities include counseling and educating patients and families, maintaining current knowledge of clinical best practices, providing cross-coverage for tasks like reviewing lab results, and offering scheduling flexibility, including evenings and weekends. They will work closely with provider and support teams.
