Requirements

  • Management and supervisory experience with one or more employees, typically six or more direct reports, focused on tactical, operational, and some strategic activities
  • Experience managing a large team consisting of both experienced professionals and managers
  • Ability to manage people, including accountability for mentoring, developing, coaching staff, conducting performance reviews, 1:1s, and guiding performance management and employee development
  • Experience turning department strategy into commercial reality by developing, communicating, and implementing business plans
  • Ability to receive assignments in objective-oriented terms with latitude to reinterpret objectives
  • Experience initiating programs or projects based on identified business and/or tactical needs
  • Budget or P&L accountability for a department, function, or geography
  • Ability to develop new objectives, operating policies, products, processes, and standards
  • Proficiency in handling complex, difficult, and undefined problems requiring detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation
  • Strong communication and influence skills with internal/external customers, vendors, across functions, and businesses to gain cooperation

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the sales function, such as preparing sales and/or expense forecasts, budgets, and quotas; coordinating sales meetings
  • Conduct statistical analysis on sales data and information to ensure optimal sales execution and attainment of growth objectives
  • Develop territorial sales quotas in accordance with the profit plan
  • Maintain on-line sales and marketing system, verifying data accuracy, and acting as liaison with IT to resolve problems
  • Instruct sales, marketing managers, field area managers, and support staff in accessing sales and marketing information
  • Prepare and control commission incentive budgets for a particular district or region
  • Perform sales calculations on sales incentives
  • Administer the field sales forecasting system to provide management with current product sales potential
  • Oversee area of responsibility, manage performance, develop talent, engagement, and inclusion
  • Communicate business and operational developments, plan, prioritize, and/or direct responsibilities of direct reports
  • Achieve goals through performance of direct and/or indirect reports
  • Manage large team to turn department strategy into commercial reality by developing, communicating, and implementing business plans
  • Initiate programs or projects based on business/tactical needs, impacting deadlines, resources, funds, and organizational objectives
