Pay Range: $43,888.00 - $102,081.00 (This is a base pay range and may be eligible for bonus, commission, or short-term incentive programs.)

The Associate Account Manager (AAM) position with Aetna International plays a crucial role in customer retention by providing day-to-day support to producers, plan sponsors, and external stakeholders. The AAM will collaborate closely with internal business partners to support assigned customers, ensuring proactive account service management to achieve business objectives and customer satisfaction.

Aetna International is seeking a motivated and energetic individual to join our Government Segment Account Management Team.


Preferred Work Location

  • Washington DC/Virginia area.
  • Alternate locations in New York City or Philadelphia may be considered.
  • Applicants should be comfortable working with international diplomats and staff in a dynamic, multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

As an Associate Account Manager, you will:

  • Develop and maintain mutually favorable relationships with Aetna International clients (plan sponsors and producers) through superior account service.
  • Communicate and present information to audiences at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Meet virtually and, at times, directly with customers and brokers, as needed.
  • Work to develop and maintain a proficient understanding of the international employee benefit business environment.
  • Respond to customer benefits questions and provide clarifications on billing, eligibility, and claims processes.
  • Retain and grow client relationships, effectively positioning our products with an emphasis on expanding our book of business.
  • Manage day-to-day incoming requests from producers and plan sponsors.
  • Support the Account Manager as requested.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of industry experience, with experience in Self-funded customers preferred.
  • Customer service experience, preferably with complex accounts.
  • Multi-functional experience (e.g., underwriting or sales support) is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (possible out-of-state travel).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Ability to work independently and with a team to deliver outcomes and drive results.
  • Insurance license, as required by state law, is a plus but not required upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual
  • 2-3 years of Account Management experience

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience (High School diploma + 4 years relevant experience).
