Responsibilities

  • Oversee store operations in assigned area, driving brand and operational excellence
  • Ensure team delivers hassle-free and engaging customer service
  • Prioritize teammate coaching, development, and wellbeing
  • Monitor financial metrics, store performance, and short/long-term planning
  • Directly manage teammates in Operational Departments (Front End, Freight, Operations) and dotted-line responsibility for other areas when serving as Head Coach
  • Hold teammates accountable for operational guidelines, brand standards, customer service expectations, and company policies
  • Identify teammate capabilities and readiness for new roles
  • Ensure Operations Departments meet standards (e.g., Scan & Activate, SIM compliance, claims compliance, SFS/BOPIS fulfillment, speed of checkout, supply ordering, known theft log, stockroom organization, cash handling, LP audits)
  • Ensure compliance with company operational processes (e.g., cash handling, safety requirements, LP audits); may serve as store "Shrink Coach."
  • Ensure compliance with Loss Prevention programs
  • Monitor email for efficient communication dissemination and timely task execution
  • Execute back-office procedures (e.g., managing applicant flow, processing pre-hire/new-hire paperwork, I-9 compliance, background checks, terminations, final paychecks, personnel changes, corrective actions, payroll/timekeeping, personnel files, attendance tracking, state-required paperwork)
  • Interview and recommend hiring for hourly Operations teammates, reviewing applications and using interview guides
  • Ensure team onboarding and training
  • Handle teammate discipline (including corrective action), appraisals, and performance matters
  • Make recommendations for teammate termination and advancement
  • Drive customer experience at Front End by ensuring engagement with every customer and coaching associates
  • Manage payroll to meet budget, schedule based on customer traffic, analyze sales reports, and react accordingly
