Requirements

  • Open availability including weekends
  • Understanding of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) mechanics and how operations translate into monthly Profit and Loss (P&L)
  • Ability to recruit, interview, hire, orient, and train employees
  • Knowledge of personnel policies, procedures, loss prevention, shrink control, and customer service
  • Ability to supervise, coach, and address personnel/performance issues including progressive discipline

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach employees in providing efficient and friendly service at registers and throughout the store
  • Address personnel and performance issues, including coaching, verbal/written warnings, and consulting on discipline/termination
  • Ensure compliance with personnel policies, procedures, store SOPs, and company standards
  • Assist in Annual Operating Plan (AOP) budgeting and achieve budgeted sales, profits, and shrinkage control with emphasis on front-end processes
  • Participate in annual inventory process including preparation and execution
  • Train front-end and other employees on required programs
  • Ensure store is well-maintained, safe, and adheres to loss prevention procedures; perform Manager-on-Duty functions
  • Provide day-to-day direction to floor employees including schedules, goals, sales/shrinkage targets, and results
  • Plan in-store demonstrations including preparation, set-up, sampling, and suggestive selling
  • Assist in overseeing product receiving, returns of damaged/expired items, and timely restocking
  • Maintain merchandising programs such as promotional ends, signage, and company/market-specific programs; communicate and oversee execution
  • Analyze monthly store reports to evaluate controllable expenses and performance; address variances with action plans
  • Ensure proper employee scheduling to meet business objectives and execution of emergency procedures
  • Accept special assignments as directed by Store Manager
  • Adhere to, communicate, support, and enforce all company policies, processes, and procedures
