  • Ability to supervise, coach, and address personnel and performance issues, including progressive discipline

  • Capability to recruit, interview, hire, orient, and train employees

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach employees in providing efficient and friendly service at registers and throughout the store
  • Address personnel and performance issues, including coaching, verbal/written warnings, and consulting on discipline/termination
  • Ensure compliance with personnel policies, procedures, store SOPs, and maintain a safe store environment
  • Assist in Annual Operating Plan (AOP) budgeting, achieve budgeted sales/profits, and manage shrinkage with front-end focus
  • Participate in annual inventory process, including preparation and execution
  • Train front-end and other employees on required programs
  • Interview, hire, orient, and train assigned employee groups
  • Provide day-to-day direction to floor employees, including schedules, goals, sales/shrinkage targets, and Manager-on-duty functions
  • Plan in-store demonstrations, including preparation, set-up, sample distribution, and suggestive selling
  • Assist in overseeing product receiving, returns of damaged/expired items, and timely restocking of shelves
  • Maintain merchandising programs (promotional ends, signage, company/market programs) and communicate them to employees
  • Analyze monthly store reports, evaluate controllable expenses and performance, address variances with action plans
  • Ensure proper employee scheduling to meet business objectives and execution of emergency procedures
  • Contribute to overall store financial performance, including product merchandising/stocking, expense control, sales/profitability goals
  • Manage front-end operations for accurate purchase recording and trained employees in shrink control/customer service
  • Work closely with Store Manager to execute AOP and programs
  • Perform Manager-on-duty functions and adhere to/enforce all company policies/processes/procedures
  • Accept special assignments and other duties as required
