Requirements
Valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification (required and must be maintained in good standing)
May require yearly certification for a forklift license
In Florida, must obtain a qualifier certification through the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for retail propane oversight (BJ’s covers cost and training)
Strong business acumen through strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making
Ability to model leadership competencies, champion growth, and lead through change
Effective communication skills to provide teams with information, direction, and support
Capability to build high-performing teams, foster collaboration, provide clear direction, and hold team members accountable

Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction within the club and drive club performance, particularly for directly managed departments (preparing for Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience tracks)
Ensure consistent execution of policies and procedures, positive member service experience, and Grand Opening Look Daily (GOLD) standard club conditions
Develop talent and teams by fostering a culture of growth through collaboration, coaching, empowerment, and creating opportunities for success
Display leadership by fostering trust, promoting open communication, resolving conflicts constructively, and building inclusive relationships
Lead audit compliance efforts, drive collaboration with Business Partners (BPs), and oversee onboarding, certification, and training for food safety and operational excellence
Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed, taking full responsibility for club operations, team leadership, and member engagement during assigned shifts
Teach, coach, and lead team members through training, feedback, and on-the-job coaching to support development and ensure learning in the flow of work
Drive a values-based culture by promoting strategic thinking, ethical decision-making, and inclusion
