Requirements

Candidates must possess a degree in Control, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline, or have extensive relevant experience. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in control systems within a chemical or other high hazard industrial plant environment is required, along with strong knowledge of control system engineering and associated hardware. Experience with DCS, MIS, and safety-critical systems, particularly Emerson Delta-V and HIMA Sella systems, is highly desirable. Familiarity with Industrial Cybersecurity standards, guidelines, COMAH regulations, and process safety fundamentals is also sought, as are strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities, and excellent communication and collaboration skills for global interaction.

Responsibilities

The Asset Engineer, Automation will provide control engineering expertise and advice to production, maintenance, and engineering teams, including root cause problem solving. They will serve as System Manager for DCS, MIS, and programmable safety-critical systems, ensuring system reliability and compliance with procedures and Cyber Security guidelines. Responsibilities include managing changes according to HPMPs, coordinating external resources, driving continuous improvement with automation technologies, developing asset life plans and obsolescence reviews for control systems, and supporting capital and improvement projects from design through commissioning. The role also involves promoting best practices in alarm management and reporting against Huntsman KPIs.
