Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of three years’ leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of SBD Willard products
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate bill of material, specification sheets, and comparison sheets
  • Thorough understanding of SBD Willard policies and procedures
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to tactfully interact with people at all levels of the facility
  • High level of organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written, math, and communication skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Proven excellent attendance history

Responsibilities

  • Oversee line activities and provide support to Group Leaders and Assemblers to meet or exceed plant measurables
  • Collaborate with facility departments to provide input and direction for production operations
  • Communicate with the Fabrication and Paint departments to monitor WIP levels and ensure the correct parts and number of parts are sent to the correct locations
  • Complete corrective actions related to any quality issues, regardless of origin, and issue related hold tags as needed
  • Enter all CART issues concurrently for downtime tracking
  • Ensure scrap, hour-to-hour, and downtime forms are completed and turned in daily
  • Coordinate schedules, follow up of assignments, and training of new assembly personnel
  • Attend relevant meetings and actively participate with MOE tracking KPI’s at weekly, monthly, & quarterly intervals
  • Assist in the selection, qualification, and development of department personnel
  • Encourage and maintain productive teamwork across shifts within the department
  • Ensure the safe operation of all assembly equipment
  • Maintain quality, safety, and production standards following all ISO and SBD procedures
  • Time and attendance, and/or other related approvals using the appropriate software (e.g. Kronos, Workday, Email)
  • Provide timely, unbiased, and effective performance evaluations for personnel
  • Handle production personnel matters such as safety concerns and disciplinary actions
  • Develop methods to efficiently plan and execute seasonal/product line changeovers timely
  • Verify all workstations are stocked and clean before the end of the shift (5S)
  • Perform departmental tasks as assigned by the Manager
