Requirements

  • At least 3 years of teaching experience, in-person or online, with expertise in designing engaging training and measuring its effectiveness
  • At least 5 years of experience in CG production in a 3D animation studio
  • Super knowledgeable about CG film production pipelines
  • Proficiency with 3D animation software like Maya, Katana, Houdini, Blender, Nuke, Substance, Mari, Unreal, and Linux
  • At least 3 years of experience fixing tech/pipeline issues in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), ability to break down complex technical concepts, and experience working in global teams with cultural sensitivity
  • Highly organized with strong time management and proficiency in documentation platforms like Confluence and Google Docs
  • Curious, consultative mindset with a passion for asking questions to identify training needs
  • Graduation from a relevant program in 3D animation; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Film Production, or related field is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Understand unique training requirements of each show and regularly inform the training team of changes and updates
  • Act as central liaison between HOCA, Leads, production, and the L&D team to ensure all teams have necessary information and resources for new hires
  • Support training of artists once on the show and facilitate transitional training for artists moving between shows
  • Collect feedback on completed training to evaluate results, measure effectiveness, and make improvements
  • Provide feedback to AM’s on new hire progress
  • Support new hires transitioning onto their shows
  • Facilitate training of internal transfers and monitor mentor/cohort relationships
  • Work with Heads of Department and SMEs to ensure training content is fresh, tweak curriculums, and create training videos, documentation, and courses
  • Assist SMEs with creating training materials (e.g., Loom videos, Confluence pages, LMS management)
  • Collaborate with L&D coordinator to manage LMS licenses, add content, assign courses, and track progress
  • Maintain and create updated training documentation in Confluence for teams or the studio
  • Participate in L&D team meetings, provide updates, and maintain process documentation, especially for new starter training
