Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Machining

Responsibilities

  • Coach, train, develop and evaluate employees
  • Provide assistance in analyzing and solving complex manufacturing problems
  • Assist in obtaining resources to effectively perform operations
  • Administer divisional and Corporate policies
  • Meet cost, schedule, and quality requirements
  • Maintain Corporate and unit management control systems, budget, and other information necessary to monitor performance
  • Maintain safety and good housekeeping standards
  • Comply with the terms of local and national labor agreements
  • Assist in the forecasting of areas of responsibility and establish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job or project
  • Assist in the overall direction and coordination of manufacturing activities
  • Manage the floor operations
  • Promote, educate, communicate, and follow up on safety initiatives
  • Provide leadership for SPQRC for the department and lead the SPQRCE initiatives
  • Communicate status to following shifts
  • Champion of allocated BPD activities
  • Discuss weekly production plan with production control
  • Make adjustments to the schedule as needed as a result of production problems
  • Allocate manpower as needed
  • Plan release for training
  • Maintain shift/department safety by conducting audits, observations, and follow up of all incidents, ensuring corrective actions are in place as required and completed
  • Work with maintenance on maintaining good TPM program
  • Sign off standardized work charts
  • Lead shift meetings for SPQRC
  • Report shift status to Assistant Plant Manager (APM); Prepare and conduct daily report outs
  • Coach Group leaders and improve their skills, knowledge, and performance
  • Execute CIP workshops in the areas of Quality & Cost
  • Liaise with customers for quality problems and co-ordinate countermeasures
  • Support APM to resolve manpower issues in conjunction with union
  • Manage budget and achievement of productivity improvements
  • Ensure cost control achieves budget needs
  • Interact with Local ME on processing, lay out and tooling for current and future products
