The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of cloud environments, web application support using Microsoft technologies (IIS/MSSQL), and a proven track record of successfully operating within technical teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong expertise with Microsoft Azure administration, monitoring, and networking is required, along with hands-on experience with IIS configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting. Advanced SQL Server knowledge, including T-SQL, query tuning, performance optimization, and troubleshooting, is essential. Experience troubleshooting Auth0 authentication and identity services, working knowledge of SSO, MFA, OAuth authentication, experience implementing and managing pipelines in Azure DevOps, and proven expertise with Application Insights, Log Analytics, and performance monitoring diagnostics are also necessary. A strong analytical mindset for problem-solving is crucial.
The Application Support Engineer will provide advanced support for StarCompliance web applications hosted on IIS, SQL Server, and Azure, serving as the escalation point for complex issues. Responsibilities include managing and monitoring Azure environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and cost efficiency. The role involves upgrading and deploying applications with Azure pipelines and orchestration, developing and maintaining pipelines (Azure DevOps), and automating repetitive tasks with PowerShell. Database troubleshooting, optimization, and tuning using SSMS, Profiler, and T-SQL queries are key duties. Configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Auth0 authentication, implementing and optimizing Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and OAuth/OpenID Connect integrations are also part of the role. Configuring and managing Log Analytics and monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve issues, supporting cloud migration and modernization efforts, and acting as a lead analyst by providing guidance, technical direction, and knowledge-sharing to peers and junior team members are expected. Collaboration with various teams to deliver seamless application support and continuous service improvement is also a core responsibility.
