Responsibilities

The Monitoring Support Engineer will proactively monitor the health and performance of distributed systems using tools like Nagios, Check MK, Zabbix, and Grafana to prevent downtime. They will triage incidents using ITIL principles in Jira Service Management or ServiceNow, categorizing, prioritizing, and escalating issues as needed. This role involves performing scheduled infrastructure checks, executing corrective actions to maintain SLAs, and acting as a communication bridge during critical events between internal teams, vendors, and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP). Responsibilities also include maintaining runbooks and dashboards for stakeholder visibility, conducting root-cause analysis for recurring problems, and suggesting improvements for service reliability and automation.
