Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in EHS, environmental science, engineering, or chemistry (strong data/statistical analysis skills required)
Preferred: Master’s or postgraduate qualifications in related fields
At least 15 years of relevant experience in EHS, operations management, engineering, or project management
Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations (especially in China and APAC), operational practices, and greenhouse gas accounting
Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with experience working with senior management

Responsibilities

Provide environmental leadership and strategy to all APAC businesses, consistent with Huntsman’s corporate standards and procedures
Ensure compliance with legislative and corporate requirements
Drive continuous performance improvement by identifying and developing improvement opportunities
Identify and reduce environmental risks
Lead communication and stakeholder engagement
Review reported environmental data and provide input on environmental metrics and projects supporting Huntsman’s EHS targets and sustainability program
Advise APAC businesses on soil and groundwater assessments
Analyze data for trends, incorrect reporting, and unlikely patterns
Support environmental remediation, M&A due diligence, EHS auditing, and related activities
Collaborate with the Corporate EHS Legal group for timely EHS-related disclosures
Participate in the Corporate Legacy and Remediation Network
Serve as a regional leader for environmental excellence, mentoring site-based EHS managers and strengthening environmental capability across APAC
Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of publicly disclosed EHS (APAC region) information
Conduct due diligence for acquisition, divestment, and merger deals (potentially $100 million to $1 billion)
Provide strategic and expert environmental consultancy for all Huntsman Corporation divisions globally
Ensure compliance with Huntsman standards and local regulatory requirements
Share best practices, reporting metrics, and identify areas for continuous improvement
Select and manage external environmental service providers (consultants and contractors) for technical studies and regulatory requirements
Protect the company’s financial well-being by identifying and communicating potential EHS risks, liabilities, and sustainability issues for all APAC operations
Handle due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, third-party claims, and emerging issues
