Requirements

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Experience in financial services preferred
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance a plus
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • In-depth Functional / Industry Knowledge required
  • Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g., Peoplesoft) preferred
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment as part of a Global Financial Control team across multiple time zones and jurisdictions

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate risk and likely sources of potential misstatement for significant processes
  • Maintain relationships with control owners to provide guidance and training regarding SOX program and requirements
  • Assist in developing regular presentations to Management and Audit Committee on relevant topics
  • Communicate with partners at all levels, developing and presenting recommendations on operations and controls for the business unit
  • Partner and communicate with teams across business to move key initiatives forward
  • Carry out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact
  • Serve as a key subject matter expert and may manage daily operational activities
  • Work to meet deadlines and deliver a work product that requires less revision
  • Facilitate discussions independently and reach decisions
  • Utilize understanding of various Corporate units to ensure operations, services and systems have proper controls in place
  • Apply analytical skills to review information and determine potential control weaknesses
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Northern Trust Methodology and adhere to all applicable Department Standards
  • Stay current on SOX/SOC/CCAR regulation and changes in the industry
