Position Overview
Customer.io is seeking a high-energy Partner Manager to join our growing partnerships team. This role is crucial for expanding our reach through collaboration with over 100 Implementation and Marketing agencies globally. As the face of Customer.io, you will be responsible for nurturing existing partner relationships, acquiring new partners, and representing the company at industry events to source and close new business.
Responsibilities
- Drive Revenue: Generate partner-sourced opportunities and manage end-to-end sales cycles, holding a closed revenue quota from these opportunities.
- Enable Partners: Equip partners to lead sales cycles for Customer.io and support their growth within our Partner Program.
- Value Creation: Provide maximum value to partners through revenue share, co-selling, referrals, and marketing initiatives.
- Sales Training: Deliver product and sales training to channel partners, ensuring they can effectively sell and promote Customer.io products and services, and position them above competitors.
- Pipeline Development: Build your pipeline by sourcing new opportunities from partners.
- Accountability: Create mutual accountability plans, including partner sales targets, with external stakeholders and drive urgency to achieve results.
- Relationship Management: Manage ongoing relationships with existing and new partners.
- Networking: Attend industry conferences, masterminds, and networking events to prospect new clients.
- Engagement: Engage with hundreds of client-facing team members from partners through various channels like email, lunch and learns, and in-person meetings.
- Program Development: Contribute to the development of our partner program, processes, and documentation to foster partner advocacy.
- Expertise: Become a Customer Marketing Expert.
- Meetings: Conduct quarterly in-person meetings with top partners.
Requirements
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in an Account Executive or sales-focused partnership role.
- Sales Acumen: Proven experience running full sales cycles and working effectively with partners.
- Consultative Selling: Experience with consultative selling and understanding of Sandler Sales & MEDDIC Sales qualification processes.
- Performance: Demonstrated history of being a top performer in previous roles, with a track record of meeting sales targets.
- Relationship Management: Experience managing partner, customer, or prospect relationships on an ongoing basis, beyond transactional interactions.
- Location: Must be located in a West Coast U.S. city with a strong partner sales ecosystem (e.g., San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, or San Diego).
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 20% within your designated region.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $119,000 base + $51,000 variable = $170,000 OTE (On-Target Earnings), negotiable based on experience and market rates.
