Candidates must have over 10 years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles focused on AI/ML. Proven success in delivering AI/ML products at scale, preferably in SaaS or enterprise settings, is essential. Hands-on expertise in both classical machine learning and Generative AI, including LLMs and RAG, is necessary, along with strong programming skills in Python, Java, or R and proficiency in ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn. A deep understanding of the ML/AI lifecycle, including pipelines, model training, evaluation, and deployment, is required. The role demands proven ability to manage agile, cross-functional teams with a strong operational and delivery mindset, strategic thinking aligned with business goals, excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences, and a passion for mentoring talent. Familiarity with modern cloud platforms, data infrastructure, MLOps, and DevOps practices relevant to AI is also expected.
The VP of Engineering - AI will define and drive the technical strategy for AI, aligning with business and product objectives. They will lead research and innovation in classical machine learning and Generative AI, translating cutting-edge research into scalable, production-grade features and platform capabilities. Responsibilities include building, scaling, and mentoring high-performing teams of engineers, data scientists, and AI researchers, while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. The role involves overseeing the development, deployment, and integration of AI models into Lucidya's SaaS products, partnering with Product and Platform Engineering teams to prioritize and deliver AI-driven features, and ensuring the scalability and reliability of AI infrastructure. Establishing and enforcing best practices in software development, MLOps, data governance, and responsible AI is crucial. The VP will track and report on key technical and business KPIs, communicate technical progress to executive leadership, manage team resources, hiring, and budgeting, and monitor industry trends to assess emerging AI technologies for adoption.
