Requirements

Currently studying a Degree in Aerospace engineering, Aeronautical engineering, Mechanical engineering, General engineering, Maths, Physics or other related subject
Aerodynamics and propulsion based modules are most relevant (such as Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Aircraft Performance, Flight Dynamics & Control etc.)
A passion for aerodynamics and propulsion
The ability to clearly communicate and present ideas including preparing technical presentations and reports

Responsibilities

Receive mentorship and support from aerodynamicists to learn cutting-edge aerodynamic techniques for designing missiles
Use bespoke tools alongside commercial software to evaluate airframe performance
Work on design of missiles across stages (concept, assessment, development, in-service)
Explore stealth, propulsion, thermal and structural aspects in a multi-disciplinary design approach
Study missile integration onto land, naval and air platforms
Assess integration of solid rocket motors and air-breathing engines into missile airframes and their impact on aerodynamics and performance
Undertake a project applying university knowledge to an industry-specific problem
