Candidates should possess 5 years or more of experience in a law firm library in a reference/research position, with expertise in legal and corporate research, and a Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree in Librarianship or Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution, or a JD from an ABA-accredited institution, is preferred. Knowledge of standard research resources like Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Bloomberg Law is essential, along with familiarity with various electronic research databases and legal analytics tools.
The Legal Research Librarian will perform high-quality in-depth legal, corporate, and other research to support clients, monitor and respond to research requests, prioritize and synthesize research findings, compile answers, and communicate research findings clearly and concisely. They will also learn and adopt client-specific policies, provide excellent customer service, and collaborate with client teams and other contract researchers to effectively execute tasks.
