Requirements

  • Shown sales experience, preferably in the research laboratory industry, particularly for laboratory equipment, consumables and/or chemicals
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciences or equivalent work experience
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and the Web along with use of Salesforce software
  • Strong industry, pharmaceutical and science background preferred
  • Full driver’s license and thrive travelling (up to 80% of time) to customer locations and attend regional as well as national and/or international meetings
  • Written and spoken English skills
  • Good organizational/collaboration, time management, communication, presentation, strategic selling and negotiating skills
  • Confident personality, able to optimally engage with all customers in a variety of settings including one-to-one meetings, exhibitions and formal presentations, across all sectors in which we operate

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic and tactical sales plan for your specified territory to ensure revenue and gross margin objectives are achieved or exceeded
  • Work to drive specific product sales, to support supplier partnerships and actively promote core products and advantageous services
  • Effectively communicate the segment specific Fisher Scientific value proposition to key customers
  • Clearly communicate to customers the value proposition and differentiation of Thermo Fisher as a preferred provider
  • Effectively demonstrate the strengths and breadth of the organization by building and maintaining an effective network of connections within the organization to strengthen selling opportunities
  • Build and sustain robust customer relationships to cultivate business development through detailed meetings with end users and purchasing contacts
  • Maintain a high level of business knowledge relevant to the region, including competitor activity
  • Achieve or exceed sales and margin targets for your designated territory
  • Leverage Salesforce.com and company tools to develop the territory plan pipeline and optimize territory coverage and ensure that standard processes for sales tasks are followed
  • Use PPI principles to find a better way every day and run simple projects
