Position Overview

Veritone Licensing (VL) is a premier content licensing firm representing major properties in sports, news, and studio-produced video content. Reporting to the VP of Sports Media and Commercial Partnerships, this Account Manager will be responsible for growing accounts, prioritizing new revenue, and uncovering business opportunities within the dynamic sports landscape through the licensing of Veritone’s media assets. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial-minded, an immediate contributor, and capable of developing sales tactics and offerings tailored for advertising agencies, brands, and corporate sponsors to drive revenue growth for VL. This is a sales-focused position.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain a high level of accountability for agreed-upon quarterly revenue goals.
  • Generate new sales through proactive outbound sales activities, including account mapping, targeted prospecting, partner growth initiatives, and marketing campaigns.
  • Represent the company and effectively showcase the value proposition, differentiators, and ROI of leveraging Veritone’s products and services through various sales tactics.
  • Articulate Veritone partner sensitivities and restrictions to navigate the licensing landscape and ensure client success.
  • Manage multiple priorities and complex cross-departmental projects at scale.
  • Collaborate with Veritone vertical directors to drive content licensing Go-to-Market strategy, awareness, collateral, and pricing.
  • Negotiate licensing agreements and collaborate with Veritone Legal to draft agreements.
  • Provide accurate revenue forecasting to executive leadership.
  • Work closely with Veritone partners and clients to facilitate project approvals.
  • Research, curate, and deliver archived media to support client creative execution.
  • Assist with client registrations, portal access, and troubleshooting.

What You'll Need

  • Related BS degree.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in Sports, Business Development, Media Rights, or Advertising Agency.
  • Sports industry experience required – deep knowledge and understanding of the business of sports.
  • High comfort level with daily new client engagement and business development.
  • Proven ability to cultivate accounts and generate revenue from 'cold' accounts.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to assist clients across all time zones, domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to bring a forward-thinking attitude and innovation to the business.
  • Positive disposition and a strong willingness to 'dig in' and get hands dirty.
  • Creative negotiation skills, ability to execute against deadlines, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • High proficiency in media rights, data, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and face-to-face communication.

Salary & Location

  • Salary: (Colorado & California Only*) Annual salary of $65,000.00-$75,000.00. This base pay is for illustrative purposes only and will be determined based on skills and experience comparable to the job requirements. This position may be eligible for additional compensation and benefits.

  • Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired in Colorado.
