Requirements

Leadership: Must be able to guide and mentor associates. Must be able to delegate and follow-up effectively
Relationship Building: Must be able to communicate effectively
Decision Making: Must be able to work independently while making decisions based on company policies and objectives
Problem Solving: Must be able to proactively and methodically deal with conflicting goals and challenging situations
Must have a valid Driver’s License
Preferred: Post secondary education equivalent to a Diploma in Business Management or equivalent
Preferred: Sales experience in either an industrial equipment rental or a welding equipment sales or rental environment (ideally construction, fabrication, and/or manufacturing sectors)
Preferred: Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding applications and equipment

Responsibilities

Develop rentals and sales of welding equipment, power generation and weld automation in the assigned region by following sales leads, making presentations, preparing quotations, maintaining all required literature and providing customer follow-ups
Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
Maintain a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines
Develop and increase the end user customer base by effective communication, assessment of needs and recommendations of solutions
Perform onsite equipment demonstrations
Make application recommendations of welding and positioning equipment
Develop long-term supply relationships through contracts and/or agreements
Meet or exceed rental and sales goals specified in the market area
Represent the company at trade association meetings and Trade Shows to promote products
Compile lists of prospective customers for sales leads based on information from newspapers, business directories, trade journals and/or other sources
Maintain accurate and timely submission of sales call reports and expenses
Provide back-up coverage at the branch location during vacations and other employee shortages
Travel within designated territory up to 25-50% of the time, including some overnight travel
Perform other related duties as required
