Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, business or related degree field required. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to 4 years of additional related experience may be accepted
  • A minimum of 3 years of prior outside business-to-business sales experience to include proven experience and success in solution-selling concepts and a demonstrated history of managing customers throughout a defined sales territory
  • Reliable transportation, current driver’s license, minimum liability insurance as required by state of vehicle registration

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sales process and drive profitable sales growth within an assigned sales territory to existing and new Airgas customers, selling industrial, medical, and specialty gases and equipment, welding products, tools, hardware, and safety products
  • Manage communication with District, Branch, Sales, and Plant Managers regularly and when necessary to facilitate 100% customer service and satisfaction
  • Establish and maintain clear and consistent lines of communication with internal departments relative to customer successes, customer failures, new customer developments, and other customer-specific information
  • Develop and execute plans to improve Airgas market share within the assigned sales territory
  • Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations and proposals to prospective customers
  • Qualify and pursue sales leads from other parts of the Airgas organization
  • Keep local, regional, and national Airgas management informed of territory performance, personal performance, and market trends
  • Maintain focus on safety in the workplace by complying with company safety procedures and practices
