Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal qualification with 2+ years of related experience in scientific, sales, or marketing roles within the pharmaceutical/biotech sector. A proven track record of developing mid- and high-level business contacts and managing the sales process through to close, including contract negotiations. Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Marketing, and to expand relationships and opportunities. Knowledge of sales automation systems and Microsoft Office programs. No management responsibility required. Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.

Responsibilities

Secure and retain business for PPD by conducting proactive, consultative sales activities directed at decision-makers and influencers at sponsors; position PPD as a primary or preferred provider for outsourced clinical development work; qualify deals, develop proposals, define solutions and pricing structures; serve as the primary contact through to sale and coordinate with clinical development areas for implementation; act as a liaison between sponsor and company on all business development activities; gather data on market trends, competitive products and pricing; orchestrate RFP strategy calls, develop client proposals and presentations, negotiate and close contracts; perform cold calls and client visits, maintain sales database and activity reports; ensure client satisfaction via regular contact and addressing requests; drive sales in CRO markets for Phase II-III biotech services; maintain knowledge of the sales process and adapt strategies to meet goals; travel as required and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes.
