Available for full-time onsite work at a GM or supplier facility (location assigned based on business needs, preferences considered but not guaranteed)
Willing to use permanent address for relocation benefits administration if selected
Able to engage in short-term travel to suppliers/assembly plants

Responsibilities

Support development of manufacturing processes & technologies, equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence, and flow of operations for effective utilization of personnel, material, machines, and facilities
Develop sequence of operations
Evaluate ergonomic/human factors
Develop/validate man-machine interface
Develop efficient material flow processes
Collaborate with suppliers to develop/select materials for the paint shop
Conduct short-term travel to suppliers/assembly plants to support/validate tools and systems
Perform continuous process improvements
Collaborate with other centers to reduce energy and waste globally
For Pre Production Operations (Maintenance Group Leader intern): Diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions; perform preventative maintenance; establish course of action to accomplish job/project completion
For Pre Production Operations (Continuous Improvement Process Tech intern): Work on repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment in automotive assembly plant environment; solve problems on the fly; collaborate with team members; interface with new technologies
