  • High School/GED diploma required, associate’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of three to five years of past supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
  • Production experience in manufacturing
  • Experience utilizing Lean tools to measure and improve the department’s Key Performance Indicators (i.e. 3C, RCCA, 5S, TPM, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail and Microsoft Office software
  • Interpersonal skills and decision-making ability
  • Verbal and written skills to communicate effectively with employees, upper management, and customers
  • Ability to give and receive feedback in order to correct behavior

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a working supervisor for individuals involved within the Weld Department
  • Works with Production Managers to develop metrics that feed into corporate goals and communicates progress and gap closure in response to these metrics
  • Coaches and trains direct reports who are engaged in providing technical support for the department (Approx. 35%)
  • Achieves metrics that feed into corporate goals, communicates goals and progress to reports and Production Manager, and drives continual improvement to close gaps as needed (Approx. 30%)
  • Performs Gemba – goes and sees the process, looks for and coaches flow, safety, 5S, standard work, SIC board, problem solving, and visual processes (Approx. 20%)
  • Participates in daily huddles (Approx. 5%)
  • Performs daily employee time sheets and routine Human Resources paperwork (Approx. 5%)
  • Attends Daily Tier II meeting (Approx. 5%)
