Requirements

Studying engineering sciences with a focus on mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, medical engineering, production engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics, or a similar program
Strong interest in manufacturing technology issues to engage with complex technical problems
Very good German and English skills in spoken and written form for communication in an international environment
Initial experience through internships and ideally a completed technical training
Ability to independently develop solutions and interact easily in a team and across team boundaries
High initiative, openness, and communication skills
Availability for 6 months starting March 2026 in Freiburg

Responsibilities

Support the Advanced Operations department in developing or optimizing manufacturing or production processes
Work on international and cross-functional projects, such as process development for reusable navigated instruments or innovative computer platforms and application software
Take on individual task packages of varying scope to assist process engineers with diverse AO tasks
Conduct tests as part of root cause analysis, solution of technical problems, or introduction of new/alternative manufacturing or logistics processes to optimize existing ones
Operate at the interface between product development, manufacturing, and quality departments
Create a project plan for larger task packages to manage and complete projects
