Requirements

  • Studying engineering sciences with a focus on mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, medical engineering, production engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics, or a similar program
  • Strong interest in manufacturing technology issues to engage with complex technical problems
  • Very good German and English skills in spoken and written form for communication in an international environment
  • Initial experience through internships and ideally a completed technical training
  • Ability to independently develop solutions and interact easily in a team and across team boundaries
  • High initiative, openness, and communication skills
  • Availability for 6 months starting March 2026 in Freiburg

Responsibilities

  • Support the Advanced Operations department in developing or optimizing manufacturing or production processes
  • Work on international and cross-functional projects, such as process development for reusable navigated instruments or innovative computer platforms and application software
  • Take on individual task packages of varying scope to assist process engineers with diverse AO tasks
  • Conduct tests as part of root cause analysis, solution of technical problems, or introduction of new/alternative manufacturing or logistics processes to optimize existing ones
  • Operate at the interface between product development, manufacturing, and quality departments
  • Create a project plan for larger task packages to manage and complete projects
