Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree and have 7 years of relevant experience, including over 5 years of experience leading dealership fixed operations and driving profitable growth, as well as over 5 years of experience leading, coaching, and developing people in the automotive industry. Proficient automotive technical knowledge and business acumen, including service operations, warranty administration, and customer experience, are required. Advanced knowledge of automotive parts and service systems, dealer operating reports, fixed analysis tools, and dealership profit department structures is necessary. The role also requires consultative selling skills, effective communication abilities, and the ability to travel 60% of the time within the assigned zone. A valid driver's license and the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle are mandatory. Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius of Kansas City or be willing to relocate.
The Zone Manager will lead and develop a team to support GM's dealer network in growing parts revenue, customer pay repair orders, customer retention, tools and equipment, technician training, and warranty administration. Responsibilities include identifying product quality concerns, driving customer satisfaction, modeling GM's core beliefs and behaviors, creating a customer-centric culture, and taking ownership of zone revenue, retention, and customer experience. The manager will lead the zone team to execute activities and achieve performance goals, stay informed about industry changes, evaluate and adjust processes, and drive revenue growth by achieving KPIs such as SRT sales objective, NPS, retention, and training compliance. Additionally, they will analyze dealer marketing and merchandising plans, provide recommendations, ensure business plan execution, and implement countermeasures to mitigate headwinds and drive innovation.
