Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience. Additional vocational training or certifications like APICS, CIPS, or BME or equivalent experience are advantageous. Proven experience in a service parts procurement environment, ideally within a fast-paced global setting, is required. Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills are necessary, along with demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and performance metrics. Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP systems for data management and procurement is needed. Comfort managing supplier performance through regular reviews and resolving delivery issues is essential. Excellent written and spoken English is required, and willingness to travel up to 10% is expected.

Responsibilities

The Senior Buyer will manage service parts and materials to ensure availability and support operational continuity, meeting customer happiness goals through strategic and tactical procurement. Responsibilities include procuring service parts for global spare parts needs, managing supplier relationships through regular review meetings, and adjusting procurement strategies based on supplier capabilities to maintain material availability. The role involves evaluating supplier compliance with service level agreements, conducting negotiations when required, and collaborating with Global Category Management for pooled spend supplier negotiations. The Senior Buyer will apply sourcing strategies for cost reductions, contribute to efficiency and cost-saving programs, and collaborate with other IES Supply Chain teams. They will support lifecycle management activities, maintain accuracy of material master data, drive continuous process improvement using PPI methodology, and take ownership of special projects within the IES supply chain organization.
