The Senior Principal Consultant will provide expert guidance between business and technical teams, solving complex Workday intersystem problems and guiding clients through implementation and operation phases.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the HCM functional workstream for clients, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Reinforces company policies and procedures to others.
  • Helps others by driving, organizing, and assigning tasks within a project workstream to drive efficient completion and achieve project goals.
  • Guide the client through facilitated design sessions and configuration decisions based on best practices and client-specific business requirements.
  • Regularly engage and support the client through all phases of the project, ensuring a smooth transition from legacy systems to the Workday HCM solution.
  • Perform multiple tasks under limited direction, keeping the client, project team, and Engagement Manager informed of changes or progress.
  • Willingness to take a leadership position on a project or as a Cognizant or Workday product Partner Lead/Delivery Assurance Reviewer.
  • Display hands-on expertise in Workday software, including data loading, tenant-to-tenant configuration, and business process/security configuration.
  • Utilize technical aptitude to convert and map data sources into data conversion templates.
  • Act as a mentor to fellow consultants and analysts, providing support for shadow assignments.
  • Actively participate in update training and internal opportunities to share skills and learnings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent.
  • Workday Certification: Workday certification in HCM Core is required.
  • Experience: 3+ years of Workday HCM functional implementation experience required.
  • Track Record: Proven track record of successfully leading Workday HCM implementations for various clients.
  • Skills: Experience gathering business requirements, designing, and prototyping, testing, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.
  • Preferred Skills: Experience with additional Workday modules such as Core Compensation, Recruiting, Benefits, People Experience, or Advanced Compensation.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to client sites.
