Requirements

  • Valid State of Illinois Class A Water and/or Class 1 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators license or ability to obtain through reciprocity (preferred)
  • 10 to 15 years’ experience in managing complex water/wastewater treatment facilities and lift stations
  • Ensure safety is the highest priority and that all SOPs are followed and DOT, OSHA, Health & Safety, and other requirements are met
  • Interact with regulators as required
  • Demonstrate collaborative and team leadership approach
  • Experience hiring, supporting, supervising, and developing staff

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safety, day-to-day operations, maintenance, administrative duties, and maintaining close client communications
  • Oversee a staff of 7 union employees in the daily operations and maintenance of the water and wastewater treatment facilities as well as lift stations
  • Play an active role in coordination and communication with operations, maintenance, client representatives, contractors, and any assigned engineering firms
  • Work closely with all parties to ensure effective system operation and optimization, staff development, implementation and management of an innovative asset management program
  • Administration and implementation of all routine and capital repair and replacement projects, and emergency response for process upsets, equipment failures, force majeure events, all alarm events
  • Management of the Health & Safety Program
  • Operations and management of the SCADA System
  • Management of the CMMS
  • Compliance and compliance reporting to regulatory agencies and client
  • Develop, track, and manage the project budget
