Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Demonstrated success in managing large and/or complex Water Resources engineering projects (wastewater, drinking water, and/or storm water)
  • Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools for design and analysis
  • Demonstrated expertise in personnel management and leadership with a strong track record of guiding teams to deliver high-quality results
  • Strong client management capabilities with proven ability to develop and maintain new client relationships
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Preferred: Exceptional organizational skills
  • Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Preferred: Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred: 15 years of experience in water resources engineering (open to fewer years with right skills and relevant experience)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team or teams, including engineers and technicians
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Foster a positive workplace culture and ensure professional growth and development of department team members
  • Guide the team to deliver high-quality results
  • Conduct performance appraisals
  • Identify staffing needs and actively participate in recruiting and hiring
  • Ensure effective resource allocation
  • Ensure the department’s project deliverables are completed on time and within budget
  • Plan, organize, and direct department activities, including project management, design, and construction oversight
  • Provide leadership in the planning, design, and execution of major projects
  • Serve as a project manager on various projects
  • Perform QC/QA as needed
  • Develop new client relationships and seek out opportunities for new business
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications
  • Actively work to improve productivity and efficiency, and address negative project variances
  • Collaborate on budget development, implement cost control measures, and ensure accurate financial reporting
