Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Demonstrated success in managing large and/or complex Water Resources engineering projects (wastewater, drinking water, and/or storm water)
Proficiency with relevant engineering software and tools for design and analysis
Demonstrated expertise in personnel management and leadership with a strong track record of guiding teams to deliver high-quality results
Strong client management capabilities with proven ability to develop and maintain new client relationships
Valid Driver's License
Preferred: Exceptional organizational skills
Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred: Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred: 15 years of experience in water resources engineering (open to fewer years with right skills and relevant experience)

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team or teams, including engineers and technicians
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Foster a positive workplace culture and ensure professional growth and development of department team members
Guide the team to deliver high-quality results
Conduct performance appraisals
Identify staffing needs and actively participate in recruiting and hiring
Ensure effective resource allocation
Ensure the department’s project deliverables are completed on time and within budget
Plan, organize, and direct department activities, including project management, design, and construction oversight
Provide leadership in the planning, design, and execution of major projects
Serve as a project manager on various projects
Perform QC/QA as needed
Develop new client relationships and seek out opportunities for new business
Maintain strong relationships with existing clients
Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications
Actively work to improve productivity and efficiency, and address negative project variances
Collaborate on budget development, implement cost control measures, and ensure accurate financial reporting
