Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering course, and at least 2 years of experience in designing and implementing water and sanitation projects, preferably in rural community settings. Advanced degrees or certifications in WASH or project management are desirable, along with strong technical expertise in water supply and sanitation system design, including costing and feasibility analysis.

Responsibilities

The WASH Project Officer will develop and oversee the technical design, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for community-based water supply and sanitation systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards and local needs. They will manage the end-to-end execution of WASH projects, including procurement, construction, and quality assurance, to ensure timely and within-budget delivery. The role also involves collaborating with local communities to assess needs and ensure project sustainability, building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, tracking project progress, evaluating outcomes, and preparing detailed reports. Furthermore, the WASH Project Officer will analyze and record invoices, income, and costs, identify suppliers and conduct market analysis of WASH technologies, supervise inventory, coordinate equipment to repair workshops, prepare budgets and work plans, generate monthly reports, and coordinate with Finance for billing and administrative requirements.
