High school diploma or GED (college coursework, continuing technical education, or comparable business experience preferred)
Warehouse experience preferred
Experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred
Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources
Ability to use basic hand tools
Basic knowledge of general construction, plumbing, electric, and hydraulic systems
Accuracy and attention to detail
Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Ability to read and understand label data
Ability to read small print on packaging and paperwork, with or without corrective lenses
Ability to take directions using the headset selection system (such as VoCollect)
Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Independently lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
Must be able to respond and perform physical demands of weather emergencies
Must be able to tolerate and work in confined space(s)
Must perform pre-shift stretching routine
Must be able to pass respirator fit test, wear respirator, and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) (implied from cutoff)
Responsibilities
Ensure equipment and systems operate efficiently and safely
Understand and comply with safety management, EPA, and OSHA policies, procedures, and programs
Understand and use data from Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to complete proper and timely preventative maintenance, repairs, and record keeping as required
Ensure all paperwork is accurate, completed on time, and neat
Interact effectively and in a respectful manner even in difficult situations
Work with little direction and assist others
Continually display a conscious concern for personal and team member safety by assisting to provide the safest workplace possible
Safely operate and maintain equipment
Report unsafe equipment, conditions, and behaviors to direct supervisor immediately
Take immediate action to correct safety issues
Treat building and equipment with respect and report all safety concerns
Identify and suggest possible equipment and/or safety improvements
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies and procedures
Support sanitation by keeping areas clean and neat while working and at end of shift
(If applicable and properly trained/certified) Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as required by position or as assigned by function
Follow and confirm proper lock out/tag out and permit procedures
