Requirements

Candidates should have 10-15 years of experience in user experience and design, with expert knowledge of marketplace design principles, information architecture, platform patterns, and customer-centered design. A minimum of 7 years of management experience, including a track record of hiring and developing high-performing, multi-disciplinary design teams, is required. Proven experience leading a design organization through major transformation, successfully implementing a design system in partnership with engineering, and strong problem-solving skills are essential. Candidates must also possess an appreciation for standards and proven methods to enforce brand identity, accessibility, and consistency, along with deep experience collaborating with and influencing product, engineering, and marketing teams. A portfolio showcasing a proven track record in creating consumer-focused UX that solves complex design problems and creates business impact is necessary. The ability to lead a team to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet changing deadlines, along with a strong and effective creative point of view, is also required. A Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in user experience, design, or a related field is expected, and a personal passion for live events is preferred.

Responsibilities

The VP of Product Design will establish and drive a user experience vision for Eventbrite's live events marketplace, ensuring a unified design vision across all product touchpoints for both creators and consumers. They will lead the hiring and development of amazing product designers, UX researchers, and content designers to foster an inclusive, energizing, and real design culture. This role involves strengthening the relationship between design and other teams, including product, engineering, research, and brand, to drive aligned vision, strategy, and execution. They will work to build and refine design systems and tools to enable design teams to produce high-quality work at speed. The VP will evangelize design at the executive and board level, translate design into impact for creators and consumers, and modernize and define Eventbrite’s overall design vision for a world-class experience.
