Position Overview

Serve Robotics is revolutionizing urban mobility with its personable sidewalk robot, designed to enhance deliveries, serve more people, and support local businesses. We are seeking an experienced VP of HR to lead our rapidly growing, high-performance team across multiple geographies. This is a high-impact, high-visibility leadership role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, working closely with the executive leadership team. You will be instrumental in shaping our data-driven and people-oriented culture, developing organizational and talent strategies, and building the infrastructure for growth. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership culture and people strategies within an innovative, mission-driven startup.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the executive team to establish necessary people, systems, and processes for scaling.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with company goals and values, encompassing culture, capability-building, and change management.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team on all people-related matters.
  • Drive workforce planning and organizational design to support scaling and cross-functional growth.
  • Implement creative and innovative initiatives to retain and inspire high-performing talent.
  • Define and implement HR systems, tools, and processes that foster a high-performance culture.
  • Support and advise on recruiting efforts, including job description creation and employment agreement negotiation.
  • Oversee employee relations and conduct investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage all immigration-related issues, including visa and green card sponsorship and requests.
  • Oversee employee lifecycle policies and systems: onboarding, performance management, compensation, and offboarding.
  • Partner with legal and finance to ensure HR system compliance and data integrity.
  • Drive learning and leadership development initiatives to support career growth and organizational agility.
  • Enable robust talent reviews and development plans to build leadership bench strength.
  • Champion initiatives that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Design and lead programs that foster psychological safety, trust, and an outstanding employee experience.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in a public company.
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership position.
  • Deep expertise in HR practices and employment law.
